Civil Inaction
The American Civil Liberties Union could not file its lawsuit against the LAPD Wednesday because a demonstration against LAPD shut down the federal courthouse. The courts are close enough to Parker Center--LAPD’s headquarters and the scene of the protest--that court officials closed their doors as a precaution. The ACLU said it will file Friday, the day after the convention ends.
