The City Council on Tuesday gave an update on the development activity in the El Toro Redevelopment Project area.
In July, 21 permits were issued for reroofing, tenant improvements and the installation of signs and patio covers.
The council approved guidelines for the area’s redevelopment last month that will impose restrictions on future construction and the types of businesses allowed in the area. Area business protested the decision, claiming it would force many of them to relocate.
City staff is planning two community workshops on the El Toro Specific Plan.
