Actress Heads Campaign to Get Drivers Off the Phone
LOS ANGELES — Motorists gabbing on cellular telephones really irritate Oscar-winning actress Eva Marie Saint.
The “On The Waterfront” Academy Award-winner is leading a national campaign to stop telephone use on the nation’s highways, and she has created bumper stickers reading, “Get off the phone or get off the road.”
The actress said she is fed up with fumbling, phone-fixated drivers.
“If I can save one accident--to say nothing of a life--I will have accomplished what I set out to do,” Saint said Wednesday.
The stickers are available for $6 on the Internet at https://www.decalifornia.com.
