Patricia Louise Tavernelli; Tole Painter
Patricia Louise Tavernelli, a homemaker and tole painter, died at her home in Ventura on Sunday. She was 69.
She was born May 24, 1931, in Lexington, Ky., and had been a Ventura resident for the past 25 years.
Tavernelli enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting and stained glass art. She belonged to various craft clubs. Her passion in later years was painting tole, a type of enameled metalware, in her home studio. She sold her pieces throughout Ventura County.
Tavernelli was a pianist and played everything from jazz to classical.
She is survived by daughters Connie Winstead of San Luis Obispo, Bonnie Baca of Phoenix, Cynthia Winstead of Ventura; sons Kevin Brumbaugh of Martinez, Calif., and Brent Tavernelli of Spring Valley, Calif.; brothers Marvin Clark and Curt Neff of Middletown, Ohio; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. today at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Assn. hospice, 1996 Eastman Ave., Ventura 93003 or the Ventura chapter of the American Cancer Society, 3737 Telegraph Road, Ventura 93003.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura.
