Cross-Cultural
Valley Cultural Center will present its Cultural Arts Festival starring Brazilian jazz artists Airto Moreira and Flora Purim, plus several other international acts, Sunday in Woodland Hills. Percussionist Moreira and singer Purim, the Brazilian husband-and-wife musical team, have performed individually or together with such luminaries as Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Stan Getz, Cannonball Adderly and Dizzy Gillespie. Other acts performing Sunday include the Zoduno African Ensemble, the Alex Beaton Scottish Group, the Taiko Drum Ensemble and Samba Nova.

Big Band
The Bill Tole Orchestra and the Modernaires featuring Paula Kelly Jr. will perform in tribute to big band legend Glenn Miller on Sunday in Valencia.

Jazz Piano
Pianist David Benoit will honor the late “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz on Sunday in Burbank. Benoit’s music encompasses a wide variety of jazz styles. No tickets are pre-sold for Burbank’s “Almost Free” concerts. The Starlight Bowl event will have open seating except for the front row and box seats, which are reserved for season-ticket holders. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and picnics are allowed.

Celtic Music
Celtic music fans have a choice Sunday afternoon. They can either hear the Celtic-based acoustic/electric band Buzzworld perform at Peter Strauss Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains, or they can catch the traditional Celtic band Atlantic Crossing at the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood.
