Griffith Park Observatory and Planetarium Theater (2800 E. Observatory Road, Griffith Park, [323] 664-1191). A Laserium, science exhibits and one of the largest telescopes in the world. The 1935 copper-domed observatory is a Los Angeles landmark, and the site boasts a spectacular view of the city. Daily 12:30-10 p.m. Admission to Hall of Science and telescope is free. Hollywood Entertainment Museum (7021 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, [323] 465-7900). Exhibits include memorabilia, costumes and a look at the evolution of film and television in Hollywood. On display: “Stars at the Inn: Portraits From Universal Studio Commissary,” an exhibition culled from a collection of publicity portraits depicting some of Universal’s biggest stars from the 1930s. The two-hour historical and informational tour is a look behind the scenes at a movie and television studio. Mon.-Fri., every half-hour from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Children over age 10 only. $15.
Taping of “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (NBC Studios, 3000 W. Alameda Blvd., Burbank, [818] 840-3537). Tickets available beginning at 8 a.m. the day of taping on a first-come, first-served basis with only two tickets per person. Guests over age 16 only. Tickets are free.

Studio back-lot tram tours leave every 15 minutes, with the last tram leaving at 4 p.m. Park attractions include Terminator 2: 3-D; Jurassic Park: the Ride; the updated Studio Tour featuring “The Rugrats Magic Adventure”; The Chicken Run Maze and a behind-the-scenes look at “Nutty Professor II.” Open daily, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. $41; seniors, $36; ages 3-11, $31; under 3, free.
