DMV $4 Fee

* I imagine that after the two letters you printed (Aug. 1 and Aug. 4), people are confused about the DMV fee charged for using a credit card for online vehicle registration renewals. Like Carl Brick I did not pay such a fee when registering my vehicle and was about write a letter similar to his. I did find, after checking the DMV Web site, that a $4 fee was added effective July 1. Like Mr. Brick, I found the experience simple and satisfying, but I agree with Peter Singer that it’s not worth $4.
