at Kansas City
1:30 p.m. PDT, Telemundo
* Site--Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.
* Radio--KRLA (1110), KTNQ (1020).
* Records--Galaxy 10-7-7, Wizards 13-5-5.
* Record vs. Wizards--1-0-1.
* Update--The last time the Galaxy played at Arrowhead, Mexican striker Luis Hernandez was involved in a spitting incident that brought loud complaints from the Wizards and a $2,500 fine for Hernandez from MLS. Neither side is likely to have forgotten the postgame fracas, and tempers might be hot from the outset. Matt Reis will start in goal for the Galaxy in place of the injured Kevin Hartman. Galaxy and U.S. Olympic team midfielder Peter Vagenas, who suffered an ankle injury in a 2-0 U.S. Open Cup victory over the San Diego Flash on July 25, has recovered and is available. Kansas City goalkeeper Tony Meola is negotiating with an unidentified team in Italy. “If it happens, it happens,” Meola told the Kansas City Star. “If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.” Kansas City is 12-1-0 when scoring first and 9-0 when leading at the half.
