RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA
The Santa Margarita Water District will distribute 300 free ultra-low-flush toilets from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its headquarters, 26111 Antonio Parkway, Rancho Santa Margarita.
However many remain after the giveaway will be sold for $30 each. The toilets retail for about $100. Supplies are limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Water district customers are eligible for up to three toilets. Customers must bring a current water bill and photo identification.
Old toilets must be returned to the water district headquarters between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Aug. 19 so they can be recycled into a road-paving material.
