All’s Fair
The Ventura County Fair will spend one more day--today--without carnival barkers vying for your attention and dollars. Workers are still busy erecting the midway and carnival, but gates will open on schedule for all other attractions and exhibits. Entertainment headliners: Foreigner (Saturday), Little Richard (Monday), Debbie Reynolds (Tuesday), Rick Springfield (Tuesday), Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (Wednesday). Special admission days: Youth Day, Friday, all children 12 and under enter free; Seniors & Persons with Disabilities Day, Tuesday, ages 55 and older and all handicapped persons enter free; Family Day, Wednesday, two adults and children 12 and under enter for $10, with special coupon available at participating Albertsons markets; Military Appreciation Day, Aug. 10, all military personnel with current valid ID enter free.

Boat Show
In the market for a boat? Check out a few at the Ventura County Boat Show, which opens today at Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard. The fifth annual event will feature a wide array of watercraft, including sailboats, sportfishing vessels, luxury yachts and electric boats. There will also be marine-related displays, demonstrations, vendor booths and nautical clothing.

Tevye, et al
The Cabrillo Music Theatre will conclude its production of “Fiddler on Roof†this weekend at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre. Joe Matarazzo as the endearing Tevye leads the cast through such favorite songs as “Tradition,†“Sunrise, Sunset†and “If I Were a Rich Man.â€

Art Aplenty
The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard will open “A Classic Competition,†an annual juried exhibition for all styles of visual art, Saturday. The exhibit, displayed throughout the museum, offers an expansive collection of works by Ventura County artists.
