White House Unveils Organ Donor Initiatives

WASHINGTON — The Clinton administration Friday announced a series of initiatives for increasing organ donation.
Vice President Al Gore was joined at the announcement by organ donors and recipients. The initiatives include a $13-million grant to community organizations to improve the donation request process, increase outreach to minority communities and implement school-based and workplace donor education programs.
