Dad Prefers PG-13

I have followed the concern of Kevin Costner about his movie “For Love of the Game” being cut for a PG-13 rating (“Costner’s Feeling a Little Less ‘Love,’ ” by Patrick Goldstein, Sept. 15).
I can only say to him that, as a father of two teenage children, I want to see his movie, and as we plan our family movies, I am glad of the PG-13 rating. I need good movies for my family and I have been waiting anxiously for this movie to come out so I could take my entire family. We need this and I am sure there are other families like mine awaiting the movie.

Kevin Costner is the last person who should be questioning the creative judgment of Universal Studios or anyone else. Other than the lucky timing he’s had to be in several movies that were good despite his being in them, Costner has mostly proven to be exceptionally untalented with virtually no charisma or presence.
