HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL NOTEBOOK

It doesn’t seem possible.

Matthew Hicks of North Hollywood rushed for 203 yards in 30 carries against Harvard-Westlake, yet his team was shut out, 27-0.

However, a closer look at the statistics tells the tale.

The rest of the Huskies compiled minus-14 yards rushing in 18 carries and were held to two yards passing.

Hicks was one of three City Section backs to rush for more than 200 yards last week--and the only one not named David.

David Valencia of Poly had 215 yards in 26 carries in a 19-0 victory over L.A. Wilson, and Sylmar’s David Contreras had 302 yards in a 28-21 victory over Antelope Valley.
