Cook Convicted in 2 More Murders

A part-time cook’s murderous crime spree, which terrorized fast-food restaurant workers across Tennessee in the spring of 1997, brought two more convictions in Clarksville, Tenn., with a third trial still to go. Paul Dennis Reid was already under the death penalty for two murders before he walked into Montgomery County Criminal Court, and he’s scheduled to be back before a jury to face three more murder charges in November. In the latest case, Reid, 41, was accused of kidnapping Michelle Mace, 16, and her boss Angela Holmes, 21, after a holdup at a Baskin-Robbins ice cream store on the night of April 23, 1997. Their bodies were found the next day at a state park a few miles away. Their throats had been slashed. Reid could get the death penalty for the slayings of the store workers.
