Valencia’s 27-13 victory over Highland last week was respectable, but not what was expected.
With 13 starters returning--including the area’s top tailback from a 9-4 team--Valencia had the potential to dominate a team that won only three games a year ago.
Facts not lost on Coach Brian Stiman of Valencia.
“We’re not a very good team right now,” Stiman said. “We’re just an OK team. Hopefully it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.”
Injuries have already taken their toll on the Vikings, who will be without two starters tonight against Peninsula.
