Engine Part Falls From Plane; No One Hurt

PALM BEACH, Fla. — A 200-pound piece of engine casing from a Continental Airlines jet landed on an empty street Sunday after the engine failed soon after takeoff, forcing the pilot to return for an emergency landing. No one was injured.
Flight 1933, a Boeing 737, was headed for Houston when one of its engines failed, Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said from Atlanta.
There was no damage on the ground, said Jim Craft, operations supervisor of the Palm Beach County Department of Airports.
The plane, carrying 84 passengers, returned to Palm Beach International Airport and landed safely.
