Will We Be Getting One Angel Too Many?

Patt Morrison asks, “Am I alone?” in her critique of the proposed downtown “Angel City” project and its 350-foot angel sculpture atop a 750-foot tower (“Our Newest Nightmare: Attack of the 350-Foot Angel,” SoCal P.O.V., Aug.8). Not at all. I agree with her views on such an aesthetic monstrosity.
It cannot, of course, be called the Eiffel Tower--that name’s already taken--but it could certainly be called the Awful Tower, or even the Offal Tower. I never dreamed that we would find a positive use for smog, but if we could concentrate enough of it in that part of town, perhaps we could succeed in hiding this hideous horror.
