They Are Not Men, They Are With Devo
I enjoyed listening to the Dodgers win in Chicago on Sept. 3. The game included four home runs, one of them Sammy Sosa’s 57th smash, Dodger rallies, Cub rallies and Chan Ho Park striking out Sammy with the bases loaded in the fifth.
Then I eagerly opened the sports section the next morning to find out that Devon White is unhappy.

Devon White has been a major disappointment for the Dodgers. His power numbers are down, and his defense is mediocre. Instead of acknowledging his inadequacies, and promising to get better, he whines that he doesn’t know his role. Todd Hollandsworth should be the one complaining.

Attention, Devo. The next time you want to complain about playing time and appearances, arm yourself with some stats. I’ll bet the Dodger brass doesn’t know that in May you passed Babe Ruth on the all-time list, and that last Friday, you passed Henry Aaron. Pretty heady company.
Of course, we’re talking about the all-time strikeout list here, but hey, a stat is a stat. Tell Davey that you need your at-bats so you can get 25 more whiffs and move into the top 40.

After reading the articles on Devo and Collins’ resignation, I have come to the conclusion that both the Dodgers and Angels don’t need managers, they need nannies.
