ORANGE COUNTY FILE : Movie Series to Aid Participants in Search of Personal Insights
Can watching a blockbuster movie help with spiritual growth? A program starting this Saturday at the Center for Spiritual Development in Orange aims to help participants find personal insight in pop culture.
Staff from the center, which is a nonprofit retreat center owned and operated by the Sisters of St. Joseph, will lead discussion groups after viewings of three films.
This Saturday, participants will watch “Contact,” starring Jodie Foster. On Oct. 23, “October Sky,” featuring Laura Dern, will be shown. “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be presented Nov. 13.
The sessions run from 2 to 5 p.m. and cost $5 each. The center is at 434 S. Batavia St. Information: (714) 744-3175.
