Fair Knight
Since mailing my letter on Christopher Knight’s reviews of L.A. County Museum of Art exhibits (Saturday Letters, Aug. 28), he has very kindly sent me copies of a large number of reviews so that I might take a broader perspective.
Having read the collection, I can now only conclude that I was wrong in writing you. There is no prejudice against LACMA; the only prejudice was my intemperate letter. His reviews are, on balance, quite even.
What is clear is that we must have a strong taskmaster if we are to continue to progress on the long road to excellence.
