Tim Perram finished second and Jeremy Law placed third to help Agoura High defeat Camarillo and Crescenta Valley in a nonleague boys’ cross-country opener at Agoura on Thursday.
Perram clocked 17:03 over the three-mile course and Law ran 17:04 as Agoura, the Southern Section’s top-ranked Division II team, totaled 32 points to defeat Camarillo, which had 34, and Crescenta Valley, which finished with 60.
Junior Erik Rogers placed first in 17:00 for Camarillo, but the defending Pacific View League champion Scorpions ran without injured senior Danny Finley.
“I thanked [Camarillo Coach] Mike Smith for that,” Coach Bill Duley of Agoura quipped.
Junior Laura Jakosky of Agoura, defending Southern Section Division II champion, won the girls’ race in 19:33 to lead the Chargers to a winning 37-point total.
Camarillo had 41 points and Crescenta Valley had 42.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Burroughs 11, Louisville 7--Shania Zaidi, playing at No. 1 singles, lost only five games while sweeping three sets for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Burroughs.
The Indians’ No. 1 doubles team of Michelle Hildreth and Melissa Hooven also swept three sets.
