Beach Report
Channel Islands Harbor Beach Park in Oxnard, also known as the “kiddy beach,” has been declared unsafe for swimming this coming weekend due to excessive bacteria in the water.
Signs warning people to avoid contact have been posted, and swimmers and bathers should stay at least 50 feet from the signs this weekend, the Ventura County Environmental Health Division advised Thursday.
All other county beaches remain open. Weekly beach testing occurs at 53 locations in Ventura County, and results can be obtained by calling the county ocean water quality hotline at (805) 662-6555 or visiting the Web site at
