City officials will apply for a Transportation Enhancement Activity grant to help fund improvements to the Vereda Bikeway crossing at the railroad crossing near San Juan Creek.
The $1.5-million project would call for a new rail bridge with a bike trail under-crossing. The crossing is the final link in an off-road bikeway beginning at Doheny State Beach and currently ending at Avenida Siego and Calle Arroyo in San Juan Capistrano. The grant would require that the city match 25% of the grant. Information: (949) 493-1171.
