The City Council is considering adopting an official motto. The Millennium Committee, chaired by Councilman Mark Murphy, will run a contest to solicit mottoes. In its 111-year history, it has never had one, according to Councilman Dan Slater, who suggested the idea at the council’s last meeting. Slater said, “I’m excited about it. It will be interesting to see what people come up with.”
