Cleveland football coaches are working overtime to accelerate the maturation process of Andre Berkeley and Victor Gomez, a pair of 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackles.

Berkeley is a sophomore and Gomez is a junior.

“It’s a matter of experience,” Coach Bill Paden said. “If they improve, they will be the starting tackles, but that’s the magic ‘if.’

“They look great on some plays and lost on others. Sometimes they look like Pillsbury Doughboys. But given time, they will be forces.”
