OUTLOOK
The Chargers will be trying to shake off one of the worst seasons in school history. Before last season, Edison had won at least two league games since joining the Sunset League in 1974. Playing Punahou in Honolulu is a good way to start. The Chargers are 4-0 in Hawaii since 1982. Defense will be the key this year, with all-league linebacker Prelesnik leading the way. All-league quarterback Jason Kripavicius and all-league running back Darin Pope graduated, leaving big holes for White to fill. Daryl Poston, a junior running back who rushed for more than 1,000 yards on the freshman team two years ago, should fit right in. He did not play last year because he wanted to focus on track. Expect the Chargers, who missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season, to use last season as a rallying cry and bounce back.
