OUTLOOK
The Mustangs lost the nucleus of their offense in all-league running back Al Gandall and option quarterback Brandon Heaney. “I don’t know if we’ll have the big plays those guys gave us, so we’ll just have to be more steady,” Crow said. The quarterback job is still wide open between Byrne and Cordova. The running back spot will be shared by Pate and Tenuta, both up from junior varsity, and possibly Rapley, who is the team’s best defensive player. “Our season is one big question mark right now,” Crow said. “I don’t think we’re rebuilding, but we might be regrouping.”
