OUTLOOK

Perkins had a rocky debut at Estancia as the defense gave up an average of 31 points and managed only one victory--against winless Anaheim. But he has brought in a talented defensive coordinator to help. Bob Brockie has prepared defenses for 25 years, including Fontana Miller, which allowed only nine points per game last year. Estancia’s strength is its team speed and depth at inside linebacker. The Eagles’ entire offensive line also returns, including Westman, who Perkins considers one of the county’s best. Hendricks transferred from Edison in January.
