Gloger Spurns UCLA for Princeton
Santa Margarita graduate Spencer Gloger, who signed a grant-in-aid in May to play basketball at UCLA, has changed his mind and will enroll at Princeton.
Gloger, a 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard/forward, averaged 23.7 points and 6.0 rebounds for the Eagles last season. He was a Times All-Orange County selection.
A grant-in-aid, unlike a letter of intent, does not bind the athlete to attend the school where he signed.
“Spencer wanted to go to a program where he could make a major immediate impact as a freshman,” UCLA Coach Steve Lavin said Thursday. “With four starters back, along with seven other experienced lettermen, it would have been difficult for him to do that at UCLA this year.”
