MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT / JETHAWKS : Lancaster Runs It Up on High Desert
Greg Connors had three hits and five runs batted in, and Rafael Lopez had three hits and three RBIs for Lancaster in a 15-6 victory over High Desert Thursday night in front of 3,402 at the Hangar.
Connors hit a three-run home run, a run-scoring double and a run-scoring single, and Lopez hit a home run, a run-scoring triple and a run-scoring single.

The JetHawks don’t have anyone among the California League award winners and year-end all-star team announced Thursday.
Outfielder Chin-Feng Chen of San Bernardino is most valuable player and rookie of the year, and teammate Randey Dorame is pitcher of the year. Bob Geren of Modesto is manager of the year.

Triple A--Second baseman Torey Lovullo (Montclair Prep) hit his 20th home run and 35th double for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Phillies) in a 5-2 victory over Ottawa. . . . Right-hander Javier Delahoya (Grant) improved to 3-3 for Rochester (Orioles) by allowing four hits and one run, and striking out five, in a 3-1 victory over Buffalo. . . . Catcher Robert Fick (Newbury Park, Cal State Northridge) hit a home run for Toledo (Tigers) in a 6-5 loss to Louisville.
Double A--Left-hander Barry Zito (Pierce College) lost for the first time in his professional career despite striking out eight over 5 1/3 innings for Midland (Athletics). Zito, drafted in June out of USC, dropped to 2-1 at Midland after allowing four hits in a 4-2 loss to San Antonio. Zito was 3-0 at Class A Visalia before being promoted in mid-August.
Class A--Catcher Jon Schaeffer (Harvard-Westlake) just missed hitting for the cycle for Quad City (Twins) in a 10-5 victory over Clinton. Schaeffer hit his 16th home run, fourth triple and 33rd double, driving in four runs. . . . Benny Flores (Northridge) is 2-1 for Bakersfield (Giants) after giving up six hits and one earned run over 5 1/3 innings in a 4-2 victory over Lake Elsinore.
