More than $15,000 was raised for the city’s cultural arts programs from Brea Fest: A Taste of the Arts.
Thirty-one local restaurants and 160 volunteers participated in the Aug. 20 food-tasting festival attended by about 5,000 people.
The event grossed about $25,500 before costs, said Kathie DeRobbio, the city’s events coordinator.
“We made slightly lower than the year before, but it surpassed our goal,” DeRobbio said.
Last year the city raised about $28,000.
The money raised from Brea Fest will help fund the city’s art galleries, theaters and concerts in the park.
