The engineering firm Jones and Madhaven has won a contract from the city to refurbish the 32-year-old McGaugh swimming pool.
The company will oversee repairs and replastering of the outdoor pool, a project estimated to cost $130,000, of which the city has contributed $15,000. The rest of the money has been raised from private funds.
The renovation is expected to be complete by December, but until work begins in mid-October, the pool will be open, and passes for lap swimming can be bought at City Hall, 211 8th St.
