Someone Cares Soup Kitchen is seeking donated school supplies to help children prepare for the start of school. The soup kitchen, open daily for lunch from 1 to 4 p.m., serves 45 to 55 children and as many as 175 adults each day. Director George Neureuther said his young clients need backpacks, pens and pencils, loose-leaf paper, rulers, folders and three-ring binders. The kitchen also is seeking food donations, especially poultry, he said. Someone Cares is at 720 W. 19th St. Neureuther encourages donors to call in advance: (949) 548-8861.
