VENTURA COUNTY ROUNDUP : COUNTYWIDE : Nominations Sought for Latino Awards
Oxnard-based El Concilio del Condado de Ventura is accepting nominations for its annual Latino Leadership awards, which recognize Ventura County residents who have made outstanding contributions to the county’s largest minority community.
Awards will be presented in seven categories: business, cultural arts, labor, education, community service, health and youth. Nomination forms are available from El Concilio by calling 486-9777.
Deadline for submitting nominations is Oct. 22. Winners will be honored at a gala ceremony set for Jan. 29.
El Concilio is a nonprofit group that provides social, cultural, legal and educational services to the county’s Latino population.
