*** 1/2 Richard Thompson, “Mock Tudor,” Capitol. Thompson has always exuded a certain confidence, grace and passion. And “Mock Tudor” reads like some epic treatise on lost love and the down-and-out. “Life is just as deadly as it looks,” he warns on “Sibella,” one of several smoldering folk-rock ruminations. “Hard on Me” cuts loose with two fiery guitar solos, sending the man ever deeper into his search for both melody and meaning.
