Better late than never. That’s what city officials are saying after finding out that they may get about $3 million in federal funds for a proposed city Metrolink station.
The only catch--it will take at least a year before the city gets the money.
Rep. Gary Miller (R-Diamond Bar) is committed to helping the City Council secure the funds, although it is probably too late to get it from the upcoming federal budget, said Nelson Garcia, the legislative director for the congressman.
The $4.3-million station has been proposed at a city-owned site on the north side of Esperanza Road, just east of New River.
