Texas A&M; Gets Mustangs’ Martin
Brennon Martin, a 6-foot-6 swingman from Trabuco Hills High, announced Wednesday that he has orally committed to play basketball at Texas A&M.;
Martin was among the county leaders in three-point shooting last season, making 62 of 182 attempts. He said that he also visited USC and had been considering trips to Utah, Massachusetts and Wyoming.
* Robert Turner, a 6-8 swingman from Western, announced that he has orally committed to play basketball at Pepperdine.
Turner visited Sacramento State and Cal State Northridge. He canceled a visit to Cal State Fullerton.
SOFTBALL
Orange Lutheran’s Jessica Edwards, an All-Southern Section Division V first-team selection in softball last season, has committed to Virginia, Lancer Athletic Director Jim Kunau said.
Edwards was Olympic League MVP and pitched Orange Lutheran to the Division V semifinals.
