Investigators are looking into the cause of a brush fire that scorched eight acres Sunday near Sespe Creek on the outskirts of Fillmore.
Ventura County firefighters, aided by crews from Fillmore and one group of firefighters from Los Padres National Forest, responded to the blaze near Telegraph Road at 1:35 p.m. and contained it by 2:30 p.m.
No one was injured, said Karen Nelson, a Ventura County Fire Department dispatcher.
The blaze consumed scrub and one tree but did not threaten any homes, although the nearest neighborhood is less than a mile away, Nelson said.
