One of the few bright spots for Oak Park in the Eagles’ 55-0 loss to St. Bonaventure on Saturday was the return of senior running back Adam Messinger, who played his first game of the season after returning from a broken left wrist.
Messinger played sparingly in the Tri-Valley League opener, rushing three times for six yards and returning two kickoffs for 26 yards against the Seraphs.
“It was really, really tough,” Messinger said of the St. Bonaventure defense. “They’re big. They were like double the size of us.
“We were working hard. It just wasn’t working out.”
