Man Held in Can Attack on House
PORT HUEMEME — A 19-year-old Oxnard man, whom authorities believe is behind a series of attacks on a Port Hueneme home with canned goods, was being held in county jail Sunday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
The arrest of Finus Erolin Brown on Saturday night capped a two-month investigation into more than 30 reported attacks since July on a home in the 200 block of Willowbrook Drive, Port Hueneme Police Sgt. Ken Dobbe said.
Investigators said the attacks were likely instigated by an ongoing dispute with the resident, whom authorities did not identify. No injuries or major damage to the home was reported.
Brown’s fingerprints were discovered on a can that hit the house last month, authorities said. Police believe he threw the cans--as well as other foods, such as vegetables and fruit--from a relative’s home near the victim’s house.
Brown was arrested at the Skate Palace in Oxnard. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail, a jail clerk said.
