Looking Down on Creation
Aerial photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent five years hovering over 60 different countries, photographing “Earth From Above†(Abrams, $65), an eye-popping book of nearly 200 vibrant images. Each shot reveals a unique panorama--like the cover photo, a naturally occurring heart-shaped mangrove forest near Voh, New Caledonia. The project, sponsored in part by UNESCO, will also be exhibited at the New York Public Library’s Science, Industry and Business branch from Oct. 26 to Jan. 29.
