David Koral completed 42 of 55 passes for 526 yards and six touchdowns, four to Geoff MacArthur, who had 13 catches for 195 yards for the Dolphins (4-2).

Andy Ramirez returned an interception 71 yards for a touchdown in the first half as the Spartans (2-4) won their Eastern League opener.

Danny Gonzalez completed 20 of 31 passes for 295 yards for the Panthers (6-0), who won their Northern League opener at Marshall.

Running back Travonne Jackson scored on runs of 50, 12 and 13 yards for the Democrats (2-3-1) in a Coliseum League opener at Locke.

Roosevelt 20, Bell 13

Miguel Esparza caught a 21-yard touchdown pass with 23 seconds left to give the Roughriders (4-2) the Eastern League victory at Bell.

Wilson 34, Lincoln 8

Carlos Lara passed for two touchdowns in the first half and Emmanuel Platis passed for three touchdowns in the second half to lead the Mules (2-4).

Eagle Rock 48, Belmont 12

Torwin Session scored on an 80-yard touchdown run as the Eagles (6-0) won their Northern League opener at Belmont.

South Gate 26, Garfield 14

Octavio Cortez rushed for 138 yards in 19 carries and scored three touchdowns, including a 55-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Mater Dei 31, St. Paul 10

Junior Palacios gained 199 yards in 26 carries to lead the Monarchs (4-2) to a victory over the Swordsmen (5-1) in a nonleague game at St. Paul.

Michael Williams gained 275 yards in 14 carries and scored on runs of 67, 16, 73, three and 64 yards for the Monsoons (6-0) in a Suburban League victory.

Marina 28, Edison 20

Ray Mietkiewicz gained 194 yards in 21 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Vikings (2-3) to the Sunset League upset over the Chargers (5-1).

Fountain Valley 21, Huntington Beach 6

Casey Clark passed for 97 yards and a touchdown as the Barons (4-2) won their Sunset League opener.

Loyola 35, St. John Bosco 0

Justin Wesson gained 113 yards in 17 carries and scored a touchdown to lead the Cubs (4-2) to a nonleague victory.

Leuzinger 50, Beverly Hills 34

Darnell Charles ran for 284 yards in 21 carries and scored on runs of 65 and 62 yards for the Olympians (5-1), who improved to 3-0 in the Bay League.

Charter Oak 27, Los Altos 24

Brandon Waters scored on a 65-yard run as Charter Oak (6-0) scored all of its points in the second quarter.

Robert De La Cruz completed 23 of 34 passes for 472 yards and tied his state record with nine touchdown passes.

San Gabriel 44, Kappel 30

San Gabriel, trailing 30-13 at halftime, was sparked to the Almont League victory by Julian Hernandez’s 65-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter.

Hart 43, Saugus 3

Kyle Matter passed for a school-record 489 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Indians (6-0) in their Foothill League opener.

La Serna 21, Pioneer 13

Quarterback Jeff Ferguson rushed for 140 yards and Bobby Potts’ late interception sealed the victory.

Los Alamitos 14, Esperanza 10

Mike Sanford threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jerry Wenze with 1:31 left to give the Griffins (6-0) a victory in the Sunset League opener.

Servite 49, Alemany 34

Adam Ernst of Servite completed 14 of 20 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns, three to Chad Bystedt, as the Friars handed Alemany its first loss. La Habra 28, Sonora 14

Troy 40, Sunny Hills 13

Brandon Shepard gained 252 yards in 36 carries for Sunny Hills, but Troy (4-2) was too much to handle in the Freeway League opener.

Kilpatrick 76, L.A. Baptist 32

Jermaine Marshall gained 454 yards in 45 carries and scored seven touchdowns for Kilpatrick.

Ocean View 56, Saddleback 49

Deshai Houston of Ocean View and Ramon Saavedra of Saddleback each passed for five touchdowns in the Golden West League game.
