Muir Rushes Past Hoover, 56-6
Lawrence Pruitt rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns in only four carries for Muir High in a 56-6 Pacific League victory over Hoover on Thursday night at Glendale High.
Pruitt scored on an 84-yard run on Muir’s first play from scrimmage and added scoring runs of 14 and 81 yards before sitting out the fourth quarter.
Daniel Shepard of Hoover (1-5) recovered a fumble by Pruitt at Muir’s 38-yard line and Aldo Marin capped the ensuing drive with a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Teron Brown added 102 yards and three touchdowns in six carries for the Mustangs (5-1), who led, 35-6, at halftime.
Quarterback Kelvan Price of Muir completed only one pass for 35 yards but rushed three times for 85 yards.
Sam Partida of Hoover rushed for 56 yards in 15 carries.
Shepard completed six of 13 passes for 43 yards and had two passes intercepted.
