THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG
The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:
BREA
* West Central Avenue: A grand theft was reported in the 300 block at 2:20 p.m. Monday.
* North Berry Street: A larceny was reported in the 400 block at 2 p.m. Monday.
* East Imperial Highway: A misdemeanor assault was reported in the 100 block at 5:02 p.m. Monday.
FOUNTAIN VALLEY
* Warner Avenue: A woman cashing a check in the 9400 block discovered that it had been forged; reported at 2:57 p.m. Friday.
FULLERTON
* Brea Boulevard: A prowler was reported in the 1500 block at 3:18 a.m. Wednesday.
* East Commonwealth Avenue: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 100 block at 2:57 a.m. Wednesday.
* Palm Street: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 4200 block at 2:31 a.m. Wednesday.
* South Roosevelt Avenue: Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 500 block at 12:08 a.m. Wednesday.
* Placentia Avenue and Topaz Lane: Police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
* East Wilshire Avenue: Police responded to a report of suspicious people in vehicles in the 200 block at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH
* Beach Boulevard at Atlanta Avenue: A man was acting like he was being attacked by bees; reported at 10:36 a.m. Saturday.
IRVINE
* Alton Parkway at Santa Ana Freeway: A motorist was cited on suspicion of driving without a license at 7:06 p.m. Tuesday.
* Amherst Aisle: A boys’ bicycle worth $200 was reported stolen at 12:08 p.m. Tuesday from the front of an apartment complex in the 200 block.
* Autry: Boxes of computer equipment worth $7,500, which were waiting outside I/O Magic Corp. for pickup by United Parcel Service, were reported stolen at 5:56 p.m. Tuesday in the first block.
* Burt Road: Someone reported receiving obscene phone calls at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday at Smitty Adventure RV Service in the 6400 block.
* Culver Drive: Women’s cosmetics worth $2,700 were reported stolen at 10:13 a.m. Tuesday from Ralphs grocery store in the 14400 block.
* Jamboree Road at Walnut Avenue: A yellow Bobcat tractor was reported stolen from a construction site at 7:01 a.m. Tuesday.
* Oval Road: Cash, a Sega Dreamcast system, CDs and a Sony Playstation were reported stolen at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday from an unlocked home in the first block.
* Walnut Avenue: A juvenile was cited on suspicion of tobacco possession at 9:53 p.m. Tuesday near Irvine High School in the 4300 block.
LAGUNA BEACH
* Bonvue Terrace: Police responded to a dispute between two neighbors at 9:22 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block. One neighbor said the other threatened him and his son.
* Joaquin Street: A red Mystic was reported stolen at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block. The car had last been seen two days before the report was made.
* Laguna Canyon Road: Police provided medical assistance to a person complaining of chest pains in the 2000 block at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday. The patient was taken to a hospital.
LAGUNA HILLS
* Laguna Hills High School: On Monday morning, school officials found that the campus handball courts had been tagged with graffiti over the weekend.
LAGUNA NIGUEL
* Crown Valley Parkway: A swastika and offensive language were painted on the front of a business in the 30200 block and the front window was covered with lipstick. The discovery was made at 10:15 a.m. Friday.
* Club House Drive: Checks were stolen from a residence in the 30900 block and then sent through the bank. The incident was reported at 11 a.m. Saturday.
LA HABRA
* West Whittier Boulevard: Police responded to a report of petty theft in the 1300 block at 12:32 a.m. Wednesday.
* East Emery Avenue: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 2100 block at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday.
* East La Habra Boulevard: Police responded to a report of vandalism in the 1600 block at 10:37 p.m. Tuesday.
* South Palm Street: A petty theft was reported in the 400 block at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday.
LAKE FOREST
* El Toro Road at Pino Lane: At midnight Monday, deputies stopped a car for traffic violations. The driver had no insurance, expired registration and possessed marijuana. The driver was cited and released. The vehicle was towed.
* Rockfield Boulevard at Mercury Road: At 2:15 p.m. Sunday, deputies stopped a car for traffic violations. During a consent search of the driver, deputies found one gram of methamphetamine. After searching the vehicle, deputies found three more grams of methamphetamine and a smoking device in the female passenger’s purse.
MISSION VIEJO
* Alicia Parkway at Muirlands Boulevard: Report of a hit-and-run on a parked vehicle at 1:59 a.m. Tuesday.
* Alicia Parkway at Interstate 5: A 22-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants at 11:45 p.m. Sunday.
* Puerto Real at Crown Valley Parkway: A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving at 11:55 p.m. Saturday.
* Brook Pine: Golf clubs were reported stolen from an open garage in the 22000 block at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
NEWPORT BEACH
* West Coast Highway: Four inflatable boats worth $14,300 were stolen from a business in the 2400 block sometime Thursday evening.
* West Ocean Front: A cellular phone worth $150 was stolen in the 2200 block; reported at 11 p.m. Oct. 6.
ORANGE
* Lincoln Avenue: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 15000 block at 12:18 p.m. Tuesday.
PLACENTIA
* South Melrose Street: Deputy assistance was needed during an eviction in the 200 block at 6:04 a.m. Monday.
* Kraemer at Yorba Linda boulevards: Report of hazardous driving at 9:22 a.m. Monday.
* Arnold Drive: A possible impersonation of a police officer was reported in the 900 block at 9:46 a.m. Monday.
TUSTIN
* Charloma Drive: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 12000 block at 11:53 a.m. Tuesday.
VILLA PARK
* Villa Vista Way: A burglar alarm was triggered in the 9000 block at 7:38 a.m. Tuesday.
YORBA LINDA
* Redwood Street: A petty theft was reported in the 5400 block at 6:32 a.m. Monday.
* Plymouth Court: Malicious mischief was reported in the 6000 block at 7:04 a.m. Monday.
* Corbit Place: A grand theft was reported in the 24000 block at 8:14 a.m. Monday.
* Saratoga Street: A petty theft was reported in the 5000 block at 8:47 a.m. Monday.
OTHER COMMUNITIES
ALISO VIEJO
* Pacific Park Drive: A 1990 Lexus four-door was broken into before 11:40 p.m. Sunday in the 23400 block. About $1,025 of belongings were stolen, including a video camera, 35-millimeter camera, purse and wallet.
* El Toro Road: A woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the 24300 block at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
FOOTHILL RANCH
* Balustrade Place: A burglary was reported in the 100 block at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday.
* Portola Parkway: A burglary was reported in the 26000 block at 8:51 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports Wednesday: Anaheim, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, Garden Grove, Laguna Woods, La Palma, Los Alamitos, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
