At ICN, Meier Replaces Giordani as CFO
Richard A. Meier has been named chief financial officer of ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc., effective Jan. 1. Meier, who is senior vice president, finance, and corporate treasurer of the Costa Mesa pharmaceuticals manufacturer, will become acting chief financial officer immediately. He replaces John E. Giordani, who is reducing his role with the company due to health reasons. Before joining ICN last year, Meier was senior vice president at Schroeder & Co.
* Arya Rohani has been named Western regional vice president for Odetics ITS in Anaheim. Within the region, he is responsible for contract and project management, overall business development and marketing. Rohani joined Odetics in 1997 after working for the city of Irvine for six years, most recently as manager of transportation. Before that, he was manager of planning for the Orange County Transportation Authority.
* Leonard R. Chapman has been named president of GT Bicycles Inc. in Santa Ana, a subsidiary of Schwinn/GT. Chapman had been senior vice president of supply chain operations. Previously, he was with Monsanto Corp. as vice president, global operations and retail sales for the Solaris Group subsidiary.
* Michael D. Krasowski has joined Paul D. Sheriff & Associates Inc., a Tustin software development and training company, as vice president of development. He was formerly senior manager of information technology for the Boeing Co., Long Beach division.
* Jill Madden has been made a partner in the Irvine office of Arthur Andersen. She was most recently a senior business consulting manager.
* Edward F. Smith III has joined Radiance Medical Systems Inc. in Irvine as vice president, research and development. He was formerly director, endovascular research and development at Mallinckrodt Inc.
* Jose Carlos Solimeo is the new managing director, Brazil for Irvine-based BAX Global. He had been with UPS for 10 years, most recently as the Brazil country manager.
