Oak Park is chomping on the meaty part of its schedule and finding it tough to swallow.
After winning its first two games for the first time since 1994, the Eagles lost to Orange Lutheran and Santa Paula.
Oak Park gave up two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 20-7 loss to Santa Paula last week.
The week before, the Eagles were victimized by Orange Lutheran option quarterback Jason Whieldon, who passed for three touchdowns and ran for three others in leading his team to a 44-22 victory.
“That guy may have been the best quarterback I’ve ever had to coach against,” Oak Park Coach Dick Billingsley said.
Up next for Oak Park: unbeaten Kilpatrick and St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League opener.
