LA HABRA
Council member G. Steve Simonian announced Wednesday that he will no longer consider running for a 72nd Assembly District seat even though he had secured as much as $200,000 in commitments from supporters last month.
“The nagging issue of not finishing what I started was what won out,†said Simonian, who was elected to the La Habra City Council in November.
“The biggest issue that kept bothering me was, was I really doing good for La Habra,†Simonian said about running for the Assembly seat and leaving the City Council before his term ends.
The 53-year-old councilman has several obligations to city projects that he said should be completed before he tries other political ventures.
