Sun Micro Cuts Price

Sun Microsystems Inc., the leading maker of computers used to run the Internet, said it has cut the price on its Ultra 5 Unix-based workstation by 20% to $1,995, putting the machines within range of personal computer prices. The Ultra 5 will be the first Unix workstation listed for less than $2,000. It runs Sun’s own Solaris; Java, which it pioneered; Linux; and Microsoft Corp.’s Windows NT, Windows 95 and DOS.
