Re “Study Finds TV Tops Kids’ Big Diet of Media,” Nov. 18: So children spend the equivalent of a basic workweek entertaining themselves, primarily with television. Is that a surprise to anybody? And can you really blame the kids? Parents so often claim that they “don’t have time” to be more involved in their children’s lives. To hear them tell it, all parents in North America work 60-hour weeks and have two-hour commutes each way.
They probably sat their childhoods away on their butts in front of the tube, too, because their parents didn’t spend enough time with them. And on the cycle goes.
