* Cal State Northridge has signed Joey Busch, a 6-foot-8 forward from Chaffey College.

Busch averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds at Concordia in 1997-98. He was a redshirt last season.

* Erin Misaki, a freshman at Portland from Hart High, was selected to the All-West Coast Conference team.

Kim Pickup of Chatsworth and Santa Clara, Vanessa Thiele of Chaminade and San Diego, and Tasha Spangler of Westlake and Pepperdine made the second team.

* A car wash to benefit Matt Emole, a three-sport Newbury Park High athlete injured in an auto accident in August, will be held today from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Newbury Park High parking lot.

* Ron Hornaday Jr., who finished sixth in his NASCAR Busch Series grand national debut Nov. 6 at Phoenix, will start 25th in the hotwheels.com 300 today at Homestead Speedway in Miami.

Hornaday qualified at 147.287 mph.
